[Surrogate's Blog]
A day without surrogate, is like any other day, except... without surrogate.I'd cry for Tammy Faye, but I don't wear enough makeup...

Good morning Boys and Girls.Well, one of my favorite foils from the Christian right has died. Tammy Faye Messner, the one time Tammy Faye Bakker died Friday of cancer.
In my life, not too many people have made me angrier on a regular basis than her and her former husband.
They, of the Magic Jesus school, recklessly took advantage of their supporters for years, building their "ministry" on the backs of an incredible number of gullible people who faithfully sent in their dollars to help build what finally became, and was from the start, largely, a fun park of cynical excess and showiness.
When people think of televangelists, surely their names come to mind quickly. Perhaps they should have remained the puppeteers they began their careers as.
I'm sure Tammy Faye had many redeeming qualities. I'm sure she believes she's gone straight to heaven, and who am I to say, perhaps she has. If so, I really do hope there are separate heavens, assuming there are any at all, because I honestly don't want to be a member in any club that would accept her with open arms.
I really dislike fakes.
God forgive me - or don't. Your call.
Be good to everyone.

hi
First time , i am writing to you. Don't know what to write but after reading your blog... I would like to add a comment the people who earn money by fooling others , get soon aparted with that money..... Earn Money is not a bad thing , its a good thing because we cannot survive without it but in some good way . The person who uses the wrong way to earn is a very big fool.

That's the heart of it - isn't it: "I really dislike fakes." I don't know if I would go so far as to hope for a separate space in heaven - I just have to take it on faith that God knows what He's doing on that one. I'm not fond of people who get in the spotlight and make fools of the larger population they supposedly represent. At the same time, I'm not too proud of some of the things I've done to damage my own witness. I believe in forgiveness because it's the only thing that offers me any hope.
As for Tammy Faye, whatever else you think of her, just remember that colon cancer is a pretty bad way to die. She may not have suffered much in the way of legal consequences for her actions, but she will forever be remembered for her public humiliation after "standing by her man" and, in the end, she suffered a slow and painful death.

As they use to decry about their donations, who would you rather have them sent their money too? Its an interesting question, as they considered themselves "the good guys." I don't see much difference between them and the Catholic Church..just a little less mascara, and only one scandal as opposed to hundreds. I wasn't a fan, don't get me wrong..religion will kill you. But that is the problem with Christianity, or any fanatical society who does things in the name of their deity, nothing you say can convince them they aren't going to their version of heaven, since they've asked for forgiveness.
